The Sydney Skinny is the world's happiest swim. Established in 2013, we’re back in 2024 at Cobblers Beach, Mosman on 17 March to celebrate all that is good in the world.
Our charity beneficiary is the Charlie Teo Foundation. They are on a global mission to beat brain cancer.
Sadly our family has been devastated by a recent diagnosis of Glioblastoma stage 4. It came out of the blue without any symptoms or warnings to a perfectly fit father of two aged 51 years old. The worst part about it all was once diagnosed, there is no glimmer of hope, no percentages given of survival, hardly any success stories just time frames and they are short….too short. The treatment plan is the same as it was 18 years ago….in 2024 you receive the same as in the early 2000’s if not before. Glioblastoma is the most common form of brain cancer diagnosed and the most deadly but yet there is no new treatment plans available to fight this awful disease. This needs to change and we can either sit by and talk about it or actually help the process. Please sponsor this fund raiser while Luke swims entirely in the nude to support the Charlie Teo Foundation who are on the road to cure brain cancer so families are at least given a glimmer of hope to beat this awful thing!
